9th Annual Lacrosse Festival Honors Life & Legacy of Brendan Tevlin

The ninth annual The Brendan Tevlin Lacrosse Festival was hosted at the Kelly Athletic Complex earlier this month. The event was organized by Michael Condon '13, Rich Shahpazian '13, David King '13, Kathleen Magnier, Kenny McNulty '88, and Debbie Shahpazian. Over 500 peoeple were in attendance, including 200 players, 80 volunteers, the Essex Shillelagh Pipes & Drums, South Park Pipes & Drums, Essex Emerald Pipes & Drums, Seton Hall Prep alumni, and supporters of the event. 
The day featured players from the Yale University's 2018 NCAA National Championship team as well as Notre Dame's 2023 title winning squad, both of whom Brian Tevlin '17, Brendan's brother, played for. Some other colleges represented were Virginia, UNC, UPenn, Dartmouth, Marquette, and Colgate.

After the completion of Brendan P. Tevlin '13 Memorial Field the Good Vibes & Easy Living Foundation was formed in honor of Brendan and his mantra. The mission of Good Vibes & Easy Living is to carry out Brendan's passion for service and raise funds in his memory. For each Lacrosse Festival, the board picks a charity that best matches his spirit, interest, and love of life. This year, The benefactor was Where Angels Play, who have built over 65 playgrounds across the country, 3 across the world, including a playground to honor Brendan's memory in Lavallette. NJ. Their mission is to create joyful places to play and to provide hope, recovery, and a return to family values in the wake of tragedy.

The Brendan Tevlin Lacrosse Festival is always held on the first Saturday of August, and 2024 will be the 10th Brendan Tevlin Lacrosse Festival.
