SHP Mourns the Passing of Fr. Paul R. Manning '51
Seton Hall Prep mourns the passing of former mathematics teacher, Fr. Paul R. Manning ‘51 (1/25/34 – 3/7/23). Upon graduating The Prep as Valedictorian in 1951, Fr. Manning studied at Immaculate Conception Seminary, Darlington, NJ and was ordained into priesthood on May 25, 1959. He spent many years as a teacher of Mathematics at Seton Hall Prep (1959-1975) and was Chairman of the department (1963-1975). Fr. Manning also moderated The Tower and coached Track and the Math Team.
“Father Manning was first an extraordinary priest and a scholar and role model as well for teachers and students alike,” commented Seton Hall Prep President, Msgr. Michael E. Kelly '57. “He gave of himself totally to Seton Hall Prep and was loved by his students.”
A visitation for Fr. Manning will be held Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center, 5411 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33417. A funeral service will occur Monday, March 13, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Lourdes Noreen McKeen, 315 S Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. A graveside service will occur Monday, March 13, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, 10941 Southern Blvd, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411.
