Seton Hall Prep is New Jersey’s oldest Catholic college preparatory school. The Prep's tradition is matched by its commitment to the education of young men by teaching them to think critically, communicate effectively and become contributing members of society.
At Seton Hall Prep, students participate in many of the amazing offerings available to them outside of the classroom. This includes 15 sports, more than 70 activities and clubs, a variety of intramurals and a seemingly endless number of service projects.
“To equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the extent of the full stature of Christ.”
Wounded Warriors Project Club Sends Easter Care Packages to US Service Members
Last week members of SHP's Wounded Warrior Project Club assembled and sent Easter Care packages to members of the United States Armed Forces. Through the generosity of the SHP Community the members of the club shipped over 300 lbs of goods to service members. Mrs. Gina Selby and the SHP bookstore donated SHP clothing items and Prep students wrote individual letters of thanks and support to the service members.
Club president Michael Lupton was supported by seniors Bryce Marcantonio, Nicholas Zanna, and juniors Oliver Sweeney and Sean Bragdon. They spearheaded the solicitation of donations and the letter-writing and were able to secure Chick-fil-A merchandise and financial support to cover the cost of shipping. The packages were sent to a squad in the Philippines, a platoon in Afghanistan, a service member in the United Arab Emirates, as well as a platoon stationed in Washington state. Long-time SHP coach and Vietnam Veteran Richard Mannes assisted faculty member and Seton Hall’s WWPC moderator Dave Giarrusso in supervising the efforts. [view the photo album]
