Five Decades of Pirates Baseball Reunite at the KAC
Kicking off the day at last Saturday's Homecoming was a gathering of former players from The Prep's renowned baseball program. Talked about for years, the Baseball Team Reunion finally became a reality as close to 80 former players spanning the last five decades met on Porcello Field for a morning of renewing friendships and baseball activities....
Many of the players were thrilled to see the Kelly Athletic Complex for the first time. Brushing off the certainty of Sunday morning aches and pains, the players took batting practice (with Coaches Mike Sheppard and Frank Gately on the mound) and closed the morning with an abbreviated game. The Baseball Program, including former players' fathers, has also met annually at Thanksgiving.
