Seton Hall Prep is New Jersey’s oldest Catholic college preparatory school. The Prep's tradition is matched by its commitment to the education of young men by teaching them to think critically, communicate effectively and become contributing members of society.
At Seton Hall Prep, students participate in many of the amazing offerings available to them outside of the classroom. This includes 15 sports, more than 70 activities and clubs, a variety of intramurals and a seemingly endless number of service projects.
“To equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the extent of the full stature of Christ.”
SHP Breaks Ground on Digital Classroom and Entranceway Renovation
Seton Hall Prep broke ground on the addition of Digital Classrooms and the renovation of the Front Entranceway on Wednesday April 9, 2025. School leadership was joined by members of the Board of Trustees, architects, engineers, generous donors, and faculty members.
Fr. Bogumil Misiuk ’08, Assistant to The President, welcomed the group on the front lawn adjacent to Northfield Avenue and blessed the site, sprinkling the soil with Holy Water. Headmaster Michael G. Gallo ’79 reflected on the project’s importance and advancement in facilities throughout his tenure including moving to this current campus in 1985 from Seton Hall University, updating the Dining Hall, Science Wing, Library, and Kelly Athletic Complex.
President Msgr. Michael E. Kelly ’57 added words of gratitude and excitement for this next phase of development at The Prep, which also includes a brand-new Health & Wellness Center at the Kelly Athletic Complex slated to start later this year.
Members of the Board of Trustees then joined Msgr. Kelly and Michael Gallo to dig into the soil and break ground. The Neary, Bergwall, and Kijanka families – whose generosity helped bring this project from a dream to reality – then stepped up to do the same. The groundbreaking concluded with engineers, architects, SHP supporters, and faculty also donning hard hats and shovels to commemorate this momentous project as well.
The morning concluded with a gathering in the Library which was renovated and completed in 2021.
