Former President, Seton Hall University
A Naval Academy graduate who became a Maryknoll Missionary, and subsequently the 16th President of Seton Hall University. He spent ten years in Washington, D.C. in a variety of influential positions with the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, and on State Department commissions. He was instrumental in forging a historic link between Seton Hall University and China in 1979. In 1980, he was asked by Pope John Paul II to be a representative of the Holy Father in China, which he did for 15 years.
