    Remote Day

Seton Hall Prep will have a Remote Day on Wednesday 2/12/2025.

Activities & Athletics will be decided on a case-by-case basis tomorrow. Your coach or moderator will be in touch with you directly.

    Academic Schedule & Notes
The purpose of our Remote Learning Days is to nudge the curriculum forward when we are not physically in the building. Remote Learning Days are school days.

The following guidelines outline student and teacher expectations during Remote Learning Days:
      1. Before or during each scheduled class, teachers will message students describing their expectations.
      2. Teachers will indicate whether the short assignments can be completed offline or submitted through the portal.
      3. Students will follow each teacher’s instructions on exactly how to check in during the class period.
      4. If teachers provide assignments in advance, students can complete them early, but they must still follow each teacher’s instructions on how exactly to check in during the class period.

    Griffin Bridges 30th Anniversary Gala

    The Highlawn

Join Us on February 13, 2025 for the 30th Anniversary Gala

On Thursday, February 13th, 2024, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at The Highlawn, as we celebrate three decades of excellence and opportunity through Seton Hall Prep's Griffin Bridges Program.

Since its inception in 1993, the Griffin Bridges Program has transformed lives by providing resources for academically gifted students from the Greater Newark Area to attend Seton Hall Prep. These scholars have enriched every aspect of The Prep community while maintaining exceptional academic achievements. Over the years, Griffin Bridges alumni have received the highest honors, including class Valedictorian and the Archbishop Thomas A. Boland Award for Most Representative Setonian.

This milestone event honors the remarkable achievements of past and present Griffin Bridges scholars, celebrates the program's profound impact, and looks ahead to its bright future. Join us for an evening of reflection, celebration, and inspiration as we recognize the power of education and community. We look forward to seeing you there!

Honoring Chris Barnitt '88, Director of School Counseling
We will be honoring Chris Barnitt '88 for his dedicated service to the program as both a guidance counselor and mentor.  We are excited to celebrate the rich history of the program by inviting alumni, benefactors, friends, and most importantly you, the educators that have touched the lives of our students.

Prep for Life Speaker Series: John Merklinger '08

    SHP Library
The Art of Effective Communication: Listening, Speaking, and Building Relationships

Effective communication is often misunderstood as simply being able to speak well. In reality, it’s a delicate balance between listening, speaking, and building meaningful relationships—skills that are foundational to both personal and professional success. In this presentation, SHP public speaking teacher John Merklinger '08 will explore how public speaking isn’t just about delivering a message but also about crafting a conversation, fostering empathy, and understanding others’ perspectives.
