Seton Hall Prep is New Jersey’s oldest Catholic college preparatory school. The Prep's tradition is matched by its commitment to the education of young men by teaching them to think critically, communicate effectively and become contributing members of society.
At Seton Hall Prep, students participate in many of the amazing offerings available to them outside of the classroom. This includes 15 sports, more than 70 activities and clubs, a variety of intramurals and a seemingly endless number of service projects.
“To equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the extent of the full stature of Christ.”
The SHP Aerospace class visited C.A.E. (Canadian Aviation Electronics) at their North East Training Center in Morristown on Tuesday, March 12th. CAE is the world's largest civil aviation training network with over 250 sites and training locations in over 40 countries.
The field trip included a tour of the Morristown facility, a ground lesson in the Cessna Citation Sovereign (business jet) flight management system, lunch provided on site, and an afternoon spent flying Class D, FAA-approved, commercial flight simulators. All 8 students successfully completed both takeoffs and landings in various simulated business jet aircraft, putting their weekly practice on the SHP flight simulator to good use. Thank you to Bob Lockett, Brian Hogg, Dan Calipa, Kyle Coulson, Ken Hoeg, Shamelia Hohenkirk, and the entire staff at CAE for a field trip that these trailblazing students will never forget. Introduction to Aerospace will be offered next year during the regular school day to Juniors and Seniors.
